Summary
Responding to Hawthorne's offer to forward Longfellow's letters to English correspondents; writing "Please tell Mr. Bright that I cannot furnish him with an autograph of Poe, at present, but will try to get one"; noting that "Lowell is delivering some delightful Lectures in Boston on English Poets" and adding "I think he will be my successor in the College"; asking why Hawthorne doesn't like the English; saying that he would like to visit Hawthorne while he's living in England, but "I do not believe I shall. I have not the courage to move with so many children"; sending greetings to Sophia Hawthorne.
