Explaining that he has been too busy to write; mentioning acquaintances at Worplesdon Rectory and stating that, despite his best efforts to economize, he has found Blackwall (in London) to be "a fearfully expensive place", and he lists his expenses along with instructions to pay the balance and draw the amount from the bank for it, as well for the sum he owes his father for money to purchase a sextant.
