Notes
Dated "Sunday" by the writer; as November 26 fell on a Monday in 1894, it is probable that the date of "Nov 26 1894", inscribed on the first page in pencil by former owner J.W. Robertson Scott, was derived from a postmark from an accompanying envelope (no longer present) that originally formed part of the collection, and that the actual date of writing was Sunday, November 25, 1894.
Forms part of a collection of letters by English journalist, author, and editor, Frederick Greenwood (1830-1909), and other members of the Greenwood family.

Summary
Expressing his pleasure at hearing "that little story" about her book, "The moon maiden", remarking that he expected no less when the book "got into the hands of a real child", and observing that the right thing to do would be to issue a new edition with illustrations; writing that he met "Mrs. Wilkinson" yesterday with her eldest daughter, and adding that the daughter is taller than her mother and that Mrs. Wilkinson gave him "a sad account of business in the city" and that he suspects that "some of Wilkinson's golden speculations turned to lead on his hands"; commenting on finding a house and a recent visit to see Lady Charles.
