Summary
Writing that he felt more sad leaving India and that he is unsure why; describing his reluctance to make the journey from Bombay to New York, but that "because of Jim and my desire to do a film in the West I was compelled to take this trip"; saying that he would have felt happier staying in Delhi for another week; writing that he and Ivory have been going to a few new places in New York; mentioning that "I had written to Jim in the past that I wanted to make a success with you, Jim, and Shashi. I still feel proud of our film ["Bombay Talkie"] and happy about that. I do not want the riches and success of usual film producers but success with friends like you, Jim, and Shashi"; continuing to assure Jhabvala that they will make another film soon, and "there is nothing to be depressed or timid about"; closing with love to Jhabvala and her family.
