1 item (1 page) ; 25.1 x 20.4 cm + envelope
Notes
Envelope not stamped or postmarked; simply addressed to "James Ivory."
The documentary mentioned in this letter is "Adventures of a Brown Man in Search of Civilization" (1971).
While Ivory's note (the post-it) speculates that he was in Lake-of-the-Woods at the time this was written, a postcard from Ivory to Jhabvala dated August 4, 1971 [see MA 23840.874] places Ivory in Morocco around this time.
Provenance
James Ivory.
Summary
Updating Ivory on bills that have been paid and ones that are pending, and money he expects to have coming in; telling him about "some pictures" he recently bought [probably Indian miniatures] and instructing Ivory to return one Merchant doesn't like; recommending "lots of other pictures" and a book that the dealer has that he thinks Ivory will like; reminding him to "Ask Kitty Cooper for your £20 from BBC" and telling him where his mail and clothes are; entreating him to "finish the documentary and return soon."
