Summary
Writing that de la Mare finally sent him two new stories, "Music" and "The Guardian" but that he does not think much of them; saying he has a preference for the two stories already selected for publication in Arkham Houses's collection on de la Mare, "A Mote" and "The Moon's Miracle"; requesting Wagenknecht's assistance in locating another de la Mare story first published in the Pall Mall Gazette sometime between 1895 and 1899 titled "The Hangman Luck"; assuring Wagenknecht that if they can locate that story, their initial hope of having a volume solely dedicated to three of de la Mare's early stories will be a reality; specifying that the story is likely published under Walter Ramal, de la Mare's early pseudonym; following that request with a reminder that Wagenknecht's introduction for the de la Mare collection should be completed as soon as possible so they can get the volume in production by November; concluding with news of his recently completed books, a novella called "The House of Moonlight" and a poetry collection called "Rendezvous in a Landscape"; asking Wagenknecht to review the titles for the Capital Times; hoping he can persuade the editor to send along a check for ten dollars in exchange for the reviews.
