Summary
Writing that "Cavalcade of the American Novel" just arrived; complimenting Wagenknecht on the quality of the book and how "it does not seem speciously academic"; saying he will review the book for the Capital Times in June; noting that he especially likes "the catholicity of taste" Wagenknecht imbues, and criticizes that other books about American writers tend to "stress the much publicized writers at the expense of all the others"; assuring that the typescripts of the de la Mare stories are coming along well, and that Wagenknecht should expect them and his latest two books "Rendezvous in a Landscape" and "The House of Moonlight"; reminding Wagenknecht that he promised to review these two volumes; looking forward to Wagenknecht's thoughts on the poetry, because "I am too close to them to trust my judgment of them."
