Summary
Commenting on Wagenknecht's typescript of Edgar Allan Poe: The Man Behind the Legend; saying he doesn't "mislike the work in general... it is just that [Wagenknecht] hit[s] Poe on English verse... and hit[s] Mary Rogers"; apologizing for "being mysterious about whose soul might be in the raven"; saying it is because it is his secretary "who dug it out and should have the credit"; hinting that "a raven is supposed to embody the soul of about the most romantic king there ever was, and that is in a classic [he] think[s] everybody is supposed to read and nobody really does"; saying he has more about Mary Rogers than his friend Wimsatt found out; saying Anderson gave her money and probably didn't know what it would be used for; saying Anderson told his daughter he was indirectly responsible for Mary's death.
