Summary
Saying he remembers seeing Mark Twain frequently in his white suit in all seasons when he lived at 21 Fifth Ave., New York; saying his father, J. Milton Mabbott M.D., had his office in 19 Fifth Ave. and his family lived in 17; relating an interaction between his father and Twain during which the latter told him how he was once on a tram and told a man to remove a bundle from a seat to allow a woman to sit down; saying Prof. William Peterfield Trent once told him that he crossed the ocean with Twain, who said, "I like you, Trent. You are the only man on this ship who hasn't asked me to tell him a funny story"; saying he does not know if these stories have appeared in print.
