Summary
Saying he has received a letter from Cary [probably Cary Welch], who has bought a farm in New Hampshire, to which the Welches can retire "if the worst comes to the worst, as many people seem to be predicting in America right now"; saying that the book The Making of the President is surely the key to the whole thing, and that nothing is more violence inducing than a sense of individual powerlessness; saying he has plans to visit India next winter, from October until May, and that he would like to go to Sikkim in the spring and the far south in the winter; saying he will ask Bruce Anawalt down for the weekend; saying he spends the weeks in Oxford disguised as a skittish undergraduate and will soon be celebrating his 30th birthday; saying he may go to Patmos in July and August, so long as he has finished his research and has the funds; inviting Ivory to come; saying he is off to Ireland for a week or so then back to Holwell Farm, Ozleworth.
