Summary
Saying Julia is asking him how he likes the Ariadne, but he does not think the effort of her pencil successful; saying Harriet [Moore] leads him into temptation in art, and that if “Turner's mantle would fall upon [him] like the Grand Prophet, [he] might attempt the record of such an effect as she so ably desired”; saying he will treasure the view she has given, that he is qualified to judge mountain scenes, and that depicting such sights is to do natures work; encouraging his correspondent to continue her lake views.
