Summary
Telling them she still hasn't heard anything official about "Shakespeare Wallah"'s Bombay run, so she will summarize what her friend Hamid Sayani wrote to her about it; describing Hamid's experience at a full Saturday screening ("not as good as Householder"), and her general impressions and comments, all leading back to her conviction that no one in India will ever like their work; commiserating with Merchant in particular-- "that might not be altogether easy for you, Ismail, to swallow because you're Indian, & it's not altogether easy for me either because I live here, but I think we just have to face up to it once & for all"; writing with sympathy about Madhur, and how difficult things are for her at the moment-- "She seems to me to be both unhappy & bitter & altogether in a really bad state"-- and demands that they write to her, as they haven't since they all parted; inquiring about the state of things with Paramount and "Vertical and Horizontal"; admitting they still don't know for certain if Jhab will be coming to America, but vowing that, if he does, she will come too; describing the adventure of having a coat made (she had been borrowing Madhur's), and then choosing material to re-cover their couch.
