Writing that she has found no one to take "Nanny's place", that her sister Dorothy has been in Ohio, and that she has been ill; stating that she plans to rewrite her book on the subject of D.W. Griffith at the request of Reader's Digest with the aim of putting"more of the Gishes into it" and "making it our story as well as his"; responding that she has not read "Louis B. Mayer's book or the Chaplin one" and adding that she liked "Earl Mazo's book on Richard Nixon" and asking him if he has read it; remarking that he might get the television series "Play of the week" as they are "selling it all over the country."
