Summary
Writing that she is "delighted" he liked the telecast, that it will be five weeks before the kinescopes may be seen, and she hopes they will be able to view the results; adding that she has been telephoning Helen Hayes, who is currently in rehearsals for "The glass menagerie", to make an appointment for "Dr. Barnard", and assuring him she "will keep trying and ask her about time and place and let you know."; informing him that his book "Mrs. Longfellow" has arrived; expressing her satisfaction with the results of the recent election; letting him know that she last spoke to Dick Griffith on October 22, and that "he seemed positive that your idea would go through" but it would take time; remarking that she hasn't seen the Old Vic, but they saw the opening of (Terence Rattigan's) "Separate tables", which she observes was "acted in the grand manner"; noting in a postscript that Helen (Hayes) would be happy to see Prof. Barnard in her dressing room after any performance at City Center.
