Thanking him for a book on architecture and writing that she will be preparing a speech (to be presented at the centennial celebration of the American Institute of Architects in Washington D.C.) on the subject of "Government and arts", and that she will be serving on a panel discussion with Dr. Howard Mitchell, conductor for the National Symphony, and Homer Capehart, Senator from Indiana, with the talks running from May 13th to May 17th; mentioning that she saw Richard Griffith at the museum (i.e. The Museum of Modern Art) and learned that he is "waiting for McGowan's arrival in New York for more definite word on your book, and promised to call me as soon as he knew."
