Summary
Writing that she has been in Hollywood working on a film for Paul Gregory and Charles Laughton (i.e. "Night of the hunter"), and giving her opinion that Laughton "is going to bring as much to film as he did to the theatre in Don Juan, John Brown's Body and Caine Mutiny."; apologizing for misjudging the situation concerning the script she believed Wagenknecht had sent to Eddie Dowling and asking how they might get the script to him; expressing regret that he did not see "The trip to Bountiful", adding that she had believed that they "were going to tour some of the summer theatres" but the author and director did not wish to "risk another Claudia Cassidy [the reviewer who gave the play a negative review in the Chicago tribune], so we got no further East than the opening of the Drama Festival at Ann Arbor."
