Informing him that Gish is working on the talking picture "The swan" (released as "One romantic night"), and remarking "She does nothing but work, sleep, and eat. Those lights! The heat is terrific. All day in a Turkish bath! One's clothes have to be taken off at noon and dried and pressed ... She is at the studio - made up - sometimes at 7:15 a.m. and works until seven or eight o'clock at. And one simply cannot slump. The lynx-eyed camera is too stern."
