Thanking him for sending copies of his book, adding "Only wish I could wrap up 'The Swan' and send it along to you", and remarking that she also received a copy of "A guide to Bernard Shaw" from Wagenknecht's publisher; writing that she arrived (in New York) on Christman morning to find her mother "much improved and so happy in her new apartment" and expressing her hope that he will come east and visit them for tea; commenting on the new news reel shows at the Emabassy Theatre in New York, and observing that he would like them and "One can meet so many of the world's charming people through them"; mentioning how tired she is from working in Hollywood on an airtight stage under hot lights and stating that she will not do another film until she finds one that seems important to her.
