Summary
Playfully scolding her for an angry letter she sent Merchant [this letter has not been identified]-- "How mean you are to Ismail. Here he really has some very good news, a very good 'surprise', and you write him that you're cursing him in your heart. ... You know how Ismail takes these things to heart. ... Now he is nursing great Ismalian grudges in his great Ismalian heart against everybody"; describing an incident with a London dry cleaner where Merchant took the cleaner's side; announcing that they have signed Rita Tushingham for "The Guru," that David Warner turned them down, that they are looking into Michael York or David Dundas instead, and have signed Barry Foster for the character of Chris; describing in detail his last visit to his friend Alida Livingston, just before leaving for London-- "Alida is dying"; giving a few practical details of their coming arrival in India.
