Summary
Describing his return to New York from India, scrambling to send completed scripts [presumably for "The Guru"] to executives at Fox, and waiting anxiously for word on how the scripts were received; relating an encouraging phone call from David Brown about how much he liked the script, how sure he is that Dick Zanuck will like it too, and how happy they both are with the budget and casting of Michael York and Rita Tushingham; congratulating her on the script; saying his celebratory telegram probably missed Ivory, who was in Benares at the time it was sent; saying Madhur is happy with her role in the script; noting he will have to go to Los Angeles soon; asking her for a synopsis of the "Jennifer Shahsi [sic] film" ["Bombay Talkie"]; saying he is tired and going to sign off; assuring her that he saw Diarmuid Russell [her literary agent] and "everything is under control."
