Summary
Explaining the articles he is enclosing; describing the surprise birthday party Merchant threw for him the night before; relating a conversation with Madhur at the party that confirms that Utpal Dutt is indeed attractive to some women; repeating his previous request that she find an Urdu copy of "Twilight in Delhi" for him [see MA 23840.361], as he wants to give it to Merchant-- "I think, since the book is so good, that Ismail might derive a very special, even a unique pleasure from reading it in Urdu"; surveying the reviews of "Shakespeare Wallah" he found in the library at India House while waiting for the power of attorney for Jhab to be processed; enumerating the lineup of actors they have so far cast for "Vertical and Horizontal": Larry Blyden, Bonnie Bedelia, Herb Edelman, Paul Sand, Eileen Heckart; suggesting, "if we don't have a real musician for the pop musician in the Ustad film ["The Guru"], he would like David Hemmings or Michael Crawford-- "Did you see The Knack? He's [Crawford] the one who didn't have it."
