Expressing her regret at not answering his letters sooner, and explaining that her mother has been a "helpless invalid" as the result of a stroke since the previous year, and that her own time has therefore "been divided between the Studio and her sick room"; informing him that she has just completed "The wind" and is about to begin "The enemy" "with Mr. Niblo directing", and remarking "This will complete my contract for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer"; congratulating him on the publication of his article.
