Describing the hectic last day before his departure from India; telling her he is currently staying in Wimbledon with friends, and is at the moment spending time with "Phoo" [Felicity Kendal]; driving his many appointments, including with "the Brute and Alex Jacobs"; describing a recent experience of having tea and listening to Hindi songs on the radio, thinking "it was like listening to Radio Ceylon in Bombay"; telling her he will be "off" to New York later that week; asking her to write him in New York "as often as you can"; reminding her that he brought a mutual friend a lipstick from New York "so please do not give her yours."
