Summary
Writing that she has written "East" regarding his article, but has gotten no response; expressing her enjoyment of the book "Damaged souls" (by Gamaliel Bradford), and thanking him for sending it to her; mentioning their meeting in Chicago and urging him to not be discouraged by his lack of progress in his chosen field, "as it always takes a very long time to win the respect and admiration of the world for new forms in art ... But watch what happens within the next ten years, and, if I am not very much mistaken you will be riding on the very crest of the wave"; acknowledging the "sweet letter" he sent to her mother; assuring him that she would like to get his article into the Century, and promising to let him know if she hears anything.
