Summary
Claiming he has written Lobrano many times but has been unable to mail the letters; describing at length his current mood and the "single weekend sequence" he is stuck on; expressing relief that some medical tests of Lobrano's "were all O.K."-- "I'm so glad you're all right"; returning to his own mental state-- "I just stew in my own self-centeredness"-- and to issues with the story he is working on; musing on possible courses of action; saying he nearly bought a horse a few weeks ago; sending Lobrano "the fondest greetings"-- "this letter is as trouble [sic] and mixed-up and introspective and writer-ish as all the other letters I tore up, but I want so much to get some word through to you that I'm going to mail it and worry about it later."
