Observing that she seems to have been fortunate in the weather in her region, as it has been dark, cold, and rainy elsewhere; instructing her to tell Edgar to "remain out as long as he can" and mentioning that "Miss Fry goes up to you on Wednesday", writing that he does not hear that she is "getting on quite so fast as we hoped" and that he is disappointed but hopes she will "make better speed"; mentioning current political matters, and noting that he has heard that no foreigner will be admitted to Woolwich arsenal without a "warranty from his ambassador or diplomatic representative"; writing that his room looks much better and that he thinks they will like his new carpet and commenting that Jessy will probably want one like it once she it; mentioning that he will be dining with (Henry) Oppenheim tomorrow.
