Happily reversing his opinion of John Coleman of the New Statesman, who has given "Shakespeare Wallah" a good review; enumerating all the positive reviews the film has received in London; thinking Merchant and Foo (Felicity Kendal) must both be very happy; describing Merchant's appearance when he left for London-- "looking every inch the big film producer"; agonizing over the cuts being made to "Shakespeare Wallah"; enclosing and commenting on some character sketches for the Bombay film (see MA 23840.199a and 199b); saying he likes the other idea Ruth has sent, and wondering if Madhur could play the character.
