Telling Ivory he received two of Ivory's letters that morning, as well as a photograph; saying that Dutt from the Finance Ministry has sent the long-awaited letter to the Reserve Bank, and Merchant is following through with a publicity campaign and arrangements for the Indian release of "The Householder"; discussing a number of theaters he plans to show the film at, and the logistics of simultaneous releases of the Hindi and English versions when they only have six prints to work with; saying he attended the Indian Derby yesterday [traditionally held on the first Sunday of February] and met the Maharaja of Bhavnagar, who told him today that he is interested in funding their films, offering 2 lakhs for the actors film ["Shakespeare Wallah"] and 1 lakh for "The Widow"; discussing how he sees MIP's future production and distribution deals; waiting for Shashi to return to discuss his investment as well; admitting that he wishes to pay Kendal as well but cannot afford to at the moment; asking Ivory to "keep out" of financial matters; asking Ivory to come to India soon.
