Summary
Saying he "was sad and upset to read your letter-- You know I always am in a rush and no sooner I get your letters I write a reply and it all depends on how frustrated I am here"; expressing his frustration with "The Reserve Bank-- the Customs-- the Ministry-- the Censors" and his current lack of money-- "I just cannot see straight"; saying he has begun contacting people to raise funding for "Shakespeare Wallah"; repeating once more that Ruth cannot make any further progress on the script without Ivory present; also repeating his intention, should Columbia fail to come to an agreement with the Indian government, to release "The Householder" in India on his own with Kine Enterprises; saying Leela Naidu has invited him to dinner, and the "Householder" screnplay "is selling like hotcakes," which he takes as a good sign; hoping Ivory will be able to come to India after a month in New York; mentioning that he will be in Delhi by the end of January to shoot "The Doll's Wedding"; asking after Ivory's father and saying "I wish you would write long letters".
