Summary
Relating that she "shed tears of glad affection at the cable you sent on my birthday" and inquiring anxiously about the results of the screening of "The Householder" (1963) on the 6th of May; returning one of the letters Ismail sent (probably the ones she requested for tax purposes, see MA 23840.35) because he dated it incorrectly; telling them that her husband has sent Rs.500 to Ismail's father; discussing the logistics of the various publishers and distributors of the "Householder" screenplay; awaiting the return of her friend Rana [or Rama?] from abroad, who met with Ivory and Merchant in New York; relating news of the Galbraiths and Indira Gandhi; saying she saw Jean Vigo's "L'Atalante" and that it's one of her very favorite films; reminding Ivory about her request for a photograph to use on the cover of her book and citing a "terrible" book of Kamala Markandaya's with a photographic cover she finds "very impressive."
