Summary
Lamenting "God knows how long this separation will be"; describing several new projects he is preparing, and "I met Mr. Shapiro's contact," who might help with financing; saying "Shashi and Prayag are bored working here and they are looking forward to doing something exciting with us"; telling Ivory that Jabeen Jalil left for New York last night, and that Merchant "had dinner with the Kendalls [sic] and spoke at great length about the actors film [i.e. "Shakespeare Wallah"] ... I plan to take them to Delhi for a discussion with Ruth"; declaring that this would "be a great film"; asking Ivory for his opinions on the project and to send a number of items; telling Ivory "I am getting horribly bored" and that he has had an offer to make a film for "25% share and 2 lakhs salary" but has "strongly refused".
