Summary
Realizing after receiving Ivory's letter of December 3 that Ivory has not received any of Merchant's letters, and therefore repeating once more all his news about items he has mailed-- contracts from Kine and Kariwala, Geoffrey Kendal's diary-- and the state of negotiations with Columbia and the Indian government (and Jhab) regarding the distribution of "The Householder" in India; relating his experiences "trying to raise money for our second production," and to that end meeting a Mr. Grover, "who has one of those very shiny offices and wears diamond rings and gold cufflinks and silk shirts"; repeating his many requests for items for Ivory to send: among them a recording of the music from "The Householder," and the one-sheet made by Royal Films International (the film's U.S. distributor); saying "we are going ahead with the [Indian] trailer" for the film as time is passing; describing his work on a T.V. documentary on Indian film-- "The response from directors and producers has been stupendous"; asking again for Ivory's response to Kendal's diary; saying he is broke and has had to borrow money; mentioning end-of-the-year accounting matters; signing off saying :"I am constantly thinking of you and bearing these days of separation in hope of an early reunion."
