Summary
Asking Ivory to please disregard the "nasty" letter he wrote yesterday; saying Ruth received a letter with Ivory's thoughts on the actors film script [later "Shakespeare Wallah"] and that both she and Merchant feel strongly about the timing of the transition of the company in the film; stating that "It is very important for you to come here" as all the back and forth of letters is taxing; thinking that when Ivory is finished with "family matters" he should come to India, no later than the end of January, 1964; sympathizing with Ivory as this is his first Christmas at home in two years and without his mother, and trying to console him by saying "our memories are still fresh with her"; referring to the previous letter, signing off, "do not think that I am angry with you."
