Recounting a meeting, while accompanying Ismail Merchant, with "Mr. Dutt" (deputy secretary of the Indian Ministry of Finance"), regarding the distribution of "The Householder" in India; laying out Dutt's suggestion for a way that Columbia India might handle the costs; pointing out that "[m]y other alternative i.e. the opinion of Eric Da'costa, may be suspect"; suggesting that Ivory should consult with Columbia regarding this plan; noting he is "sending copies of this letter to Mr. Golden and Mr. Blamey"; advising in a postscript that "I rang up Mr. Blamey but he was doubtful if Columbia would have spare footage. I should press Columbia now to accept this proposition."
