Summary
Informing her that he will be back on Friday morning, remarking that "This place is not upon the whole, as good as any of the others" but "good enough for rest and walking"; writing that he is sorry about Mrs. Whitmore and asking his daughter to "intimate" to her that she need not worry about repaying money she borrowed from him in the spring; noting that it the servant Eliza's last day before she leaves to get married; attributing the dullness of his letter to "a slight face-ache from cold."
