Enclosing two letters of credit for £10, sending her three more £10 letters of credit under separate cover, and telling her not to worry about expenses; writing that he is well but that he is prevented from going away for a rest by the numerous difficulties with the paper (i.e. the St. James Gazette) which arise whenever he considers a vacation; going on to refer to "this confounded House of Commons here to sit for a fortnight longer at the very least" and "affairs abroad" which "look no more promising of pace & quiet now than at the beginning of the season"; informing her that he has been dining at home and that things there seem well; mentioning his father and other members of the family.
