Summary
Reporting a recent illness; on March 7th continuing the letter by describing her passage across the Atlantic and her illness; noting that when she returned, she found her husband, Levi Thaxter, living in a house, described as "a sunny little sparrow's nest up under the eaves... a bit of a box, but the pleasantest place!" with his sister; mentioning the good health and spirits of Hamilton Wilde and the "seriously ill" health of James Thomas Fields; finding Thaxter "having wonderful success reading Browning publicly"; commenting favorably on meeting Robert Browning and Anne Thackeray Ritchie; being pleased that they enjoy her "little books" and regretting that she could not illustrate them; promising to send books she earlier said she would.
