Summary
Confirming receipt of his letter; expressing pleasure that his book has done so well in England and that it has been so well-reviewed; further expressing excitement at the prospect of a new illustrated edition of the work for Christmas, especially as "neither the danish nor the german edition is illustrated"; assuring that his friend Collin, who "is acquainted with the youngest and most able artists in Denmark", will get in touch about the drawings; explaining that he had earlier asked Mrs. Bushby to inform him that he was travelling and could not write in English without assistance, but that he found someone in Switzerland willing to help; informing on a foiled plan to spend winter in Rome and a lack of sureness as to future travel plans; informing that he sent Mrs. Bushby descriptions of his visits to Oberammergau and with Charles Dickens; noting that he has not heard from Dickens in a long time.
