Thanking him for quick receipt of the third manuscript for "Pictures of Sweden"; accepting his suggestion not to dedicate his book to "Mr Jordan" but asking Bentley to send a copy to Jordan, as well as copies to Charles Dickens, William Hurton, Fru Hambro, and perhaps Queen Victoria; discussing the publication of the Danish edition of the book after the English edition; discussing what the book will be called in English and Danish but leaving all ultimate publishing decisions to Bentley; deciding not to dedicate the book to Dickens; reporting his grief at the deaths of Emma Hartmann and Hans Christian Ørsted; eulogizing Ørsted.
