Summary
Informing that he has hoped for the past week to receive a letter confirming receipt of the first two parts of the English manuscript of "The Two Baronesses" and expressing that he is "a little uneasy" at having not received any confirmation, as it was his only copy; reporting that he is sending the third part of the manuscript aboard the steamer "Camilla" which goes "from Petersburg to London" and which Charles Beckwith has used before to send manuscripts; begging that he or one of his clerks will confirm receipt of all three parts; asking for advice as to whom he should dedicate the book; informing that if Bentley were not the publisher, he would be the dedicatee; proposing to dedicate the book to Carl Hambro; explaining that he is seeking this advice because he does not want the dedication to hurt book sales; expecting "the whole Germany" to attack Denmark and hoping England will "speak seriosuly on the matter"; hoping for "a honorable peace and comfortable winter days"; hoping all like his new book; expecting it to be published in England by the end of September and hoping it will be published in Denmark at the end of November; asking him in a postscript to inquire at the office of the steamship Camilla for the manuscript if it does not accompany this letter; asking him again to confirm receipt of all three parts.
