Asking Cahoon for a favor to help with her "Christina research"; requesting to have someone copy a section out of an English translation of "History of the Popes" by Ludwig von Pastor; explaining that the original work is in German, and while there are no English translations available in Rome she trusts that there is a copy of the translated edition at the New York Public Library; describing the "gloriously pleasant" time that she is having in Rome now that spring "is crawling in"; noting the many Americans who are either visiting or living in Rome, including Claude Fredericks and Marguerite Young, as well as "other young American writers"; inquiring, "Was Rome so Americanly populated when you were here?"; asking for updates on Cahoon's writing projects.
