Saying that it has been three weeks since he has received news from her and he hopes that communciations will be re-established before long; writing that the Prussians neither dare nor are able to attack and that their batteries are being demolished as quickly as they are created; adding that he cannot say more, but "il faut avoir de la patience et du courage"; writing that they are all well (referring to the three Manet brothers) and that, though he hasn't seen her brothers Rudolph or Ferdinand for a while, he believes that they are also doing well.
