Summary
Sharing his thoughts on Herbert's idea to write "an index for the little mags" noting that, "it is such a vast job that it should be approached with as little overlapping of effort as possible"; expressing that he thinks Herbert's index should be "a SUBJECT-Author-Title index"; explaining the process undertaken by The Untide Press to publish a book, beginning with, "As to your inquiry about our accepting pay for a book, we don't" and adding, "The Press is set up to further modern poetry by providing it in an attractive format and at a price that the public we want to reach can pay"; further outlining the publication process and cautioning Herbert that while they would like to see his work, The Untide Press "must warn you that we've just started a book".
