Summary
Saying that he could not reach [Jean-Baptiste] Faure, who he doesn't think would be willing to take the portrait of him anyway; adding that M. [Auguste] Pellerin doesn't want to make any acquisitions for a few months; advising her to accept an offer of 6,000 francs; saying that M. Cézard will give her the frames for the two portraits of her husband soon; adding that she should wait to frame the "deux grandes toiles du cavalier et de l'amazone" because of the expense; asking her if she would entrust him with Manet's correspondence and proposing a publication; promising that any passages that she did not want made public could be suppressed.
