Summary
Begging Pagnerre to put off the premiere of Anicet Bourgeois and Paul Feval's play Le Capitaine Fantome so that Flaubert's friend (Louis) Bouilhet's play Faustine can have a longer run. He finds that the advance publicity given to Le Capitaine Fantome is unconscionable given the fact that Bouilhet's play received none. Mentions in a P.S. that Le Chateau des Coeurs, a play on which Flaubert and Bouilhet worked together, will not be produced at the [Theatre des] Varietes. Also mentions Fournier, manager of the Porte Saint-Martin Theater.
