Summary
Collection of 15 notes and letters responding to an inquiry by an eighth-grade English teacher, John Stanger, about which books had been most influential in their lives. Stanger posed this challenge to a number of authors, journalists, educators, and government officials; the replies consist of 6 autograph notes, signed; 4 typescript notes, signed; 4 autograph notes, unsigned; and 1 typescript letter, signed. 6 are undated, and the dates on the other 9 range from November 1990 to August 1992.
