Summary
Writing that she is much better, although "still feeling groggy" and suggesting that it would be better if he came later; providing a short list, with commentary, of books she illustrated with color wood engravings; explaining that when she started doing wood engravings, she didn't think "anyone would condescend to let me do a book", though she hoped someday to illustrate a book of English ballads, but stressing that she "can't exaggerate how vague I was about it", noting that she didn't know any contemporary wood engravers, and insisting that she "really meant to paint all that time."
