Writing to say "no"; stating that he will be very glad to see her when she can look him up; describing how he is still working away at his big picture after having interrupted himself to finish some other things and sharing that he will not have anything to show for yet a while; asking if she has become aware of Stillman, who has been back for some weeks; describing how he seems a bit better; sharing that Miss Edwards (likely novelist and travel writer Matilda Barbara Edwards, later Betham-Edwards, 1836-1919) is helping get him pottery bears; hoping that she is thriving; describing how he never got out of London even for a day since last spring at Scalands; reflecting on this and how it was decidedly a good thing that he gave up Glottenham.
