Writing to thank Barbara for the offer to meet, but sharing that she was only at Hastings for a month and must postpone their meeting to an uncertain future; thanking her again for the pleasure of their stay at Glottenham; sharing that she will write to Mrs. Kempe to let her know she is feeling better and being careful now that she feels more revived; passing on salutations from her mother and sister; noting that Miss Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Scott, Miss Mados Brown, and her brother William recently set off for a continental tour, and have visited Rome, Florence, and Milan already; hoping that the change Barbara speaks of will be good for General Ludlow and his children. Postscript stating that she and her mother are hoping to visit Gabriel next Wednesday.
