Summary
Writing to Barbara to say it was a pleasure to meet her, and to apologize for committing to spending time together on Sunday; sharing that she will need to help out with Sunday school instead; apologizing for not realizing this scheduling conflict sooner; wishing that Barbara could see how much everyone is enjoying her gift, which is "the first picture I ever possessed"; noting that her sisters left that morning for a month for Newcastle; asking Barbara if she has heard of “WBS, painter and poet” (referring to William Bell Scott), whose wife ranks among one of their dearest friends; hoping William will leave town soon, and then her mother and herself can go sea-wards; sending greetings to her sisters, and compliments to Dr. Bodichon even though they have never met.
